Let’s see… this weekend I have to practice, practice, practice. I think I’ve finally decided on what I’m using for tri-state tryouts. For the technical part, I’ll use Orpheus… for the lyrical part, my solo (Concertino). I’m thinking… D to G in Orpheus and A to the end of the first page (almost to D) in Concertino. I wonder if that’ll be too long/too short. Is it two or three minutes of playing? Hmmm… I’ll just not play any of the repeats in Orpheus. Everyone knows what the can-can sounds like. And speaking of my solo… hopefully Jacky is now my accompanist. Nathan is pretty much… yep.. an idiot. Anyhoo! I need to start looking up info about higher ed and see what classes I should take if I end up doing that. Such a pain, though… First, I’ve got to see what I need for psychology at IU. Then see what IPFW offers… then compare the credits at IPFW to IU and see if IU will accept it… then see what times the classes are at IPFW to see what I can fit between orchestra and band (I REFUSE to quit… it’ll work), then compare the english/math courses I have to take in college to Homestead in order to see what college courses can be credited for high school courses, too… and once all that is planned… I have to compare those class times to Brit’s higher ed class times (if she really does end up doing it) and see if I can catch a ride with her. But then I’ll have to miss my classes whenever she does if she’s my only source of transportation… if her classes even somewhat match up with mine. So I’ll need a backup plan of somesort with someone else and compare classes again.. IF any of the classes I need to take will even fit between orchestra and band. *whew* a lot of “if” ‘s. Anyway… if I don’t end up doing higher ed… I’ll still stick with band, orch, honors physics, ap psych, pre-calc (if that’s the math I need in college), guitar/music theory, ap comp (if I make it)… and some other kind of english class. See… I’d much rather take a college psych. course instead of AP psych… and a college english course (that’ll be accepted as high school credit, too) instead of AP comp and whatever else…. cause then I know I have the college credit. I think I explained that alright. Well, anyhoo… going to eh… hm. Read Wicked by Gregory Maguire. It’s an okay book. I may have mentioned it before.. reading it for etymology/free time. It’s the Wicked Witch of the West’s side of the story of “Wizard of Oz”. Thus far, Galinda is a prissy, wealthy idiot and Elphaba is a witty, laid-back pauper. Welpers, bye bye.
